The more humid it is, the more work an air conditioner has to do. Not a bad unit - but does need periodic maintenance! You can use compressed air to unclog the unit. A 95 degree F room temperature can drop to a maximum temperature of 75 to 80 degrees F. The unit comes in white. Should Return it This doesn't even cool a small bedroom.
They cannot do more work than the btu rating that is listed on each air conditioner. There are three cooling and three fan settings, with multi-directional air flow. I cleaned out the mold from one are in the middle of the unit and immediately the water started flowing through the draining tube. You can only adjust the air flow to the sides, not vertically. However, the water drain hose barely stuck out as it should have been longer so it would have been easier to hook the hose that I had to purchase from somewhere else to the unit. It has been running for 2 hours with no drips!! So it's not good for cooling down a large room.
It cooled my bedroom down from 100 degrees down to 70. You will have to buy a higher rated btu rated air conditioner if the temperature of the room drops by only 10 degrees F. It would be in the purchasers best interest to get a small piece of charcoal or some kind filter and tape to the lower portion of the unit. A one year warranty on parts and labor by the manufacturer, along with a five year warranty on the compressor. Window installation kit is badly designed. On an extremely hot day, it will not do a good job.
Looks Good and Works Good Good bang for the buck. I disassembled the unit and using a vacuum cleaner removed a rather large amount of dust build-up from the coil. I removed the back and it seemed the drainage area was clogged from mold. The issue that is causing the problem also appears to be that the condensation from the evaporator runs down the condenser coils on its way to the bottom, keeping those coils quite damp and attracting every little bit of dust that may float by. There were a bunch of screws but they all seemed to be of the same size. Does require drainage, and it's loud The box said the unit was self-evaporating and doesn't need to be drained but that's not true, it does need to be drained.
Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. If the room temperature drops from 95 to 85 degrees F, Then the problem is having too small of a btu rating on the air conditioner or refrigerant has leaked out the sealed system which can affect the amount of cooling performance. The most important thing to me was the dehumidifier function which works well. . Notes: From the Manufacturer: The is a self-evaporating unit, so there is usually no need to empty the dehumidifier, unless you are in a very humid environment.
While the leakage problem was happening I wasn't even getting the triangle warning light. If the water had been draining from near the top gravity would have sent it down but since the drain is near the bottom and the unit is about 2 inches off the floor, it makes finding a drain pan for such a low space difficult! It has a difficult time cooling my small bedroom. I just had this problem. Also, you have to be able to put up with loud, continuous noise of this unit! Getting the back off and on again was pretty easy. A digital time and temperature display makes for easy reading.
I hooked up a rubber drain hose I bought at Home Depot. It's small and easy to assemble. Easy to operate and easy to assemble. However, I never really had a problem with the drain like everybody else did. Static pressure from insufficient return air could cause negative pressure to hold back on condensate drainage. Air conditioners are rated by how much heat that can be removed each hour.
The unit is now cooling back to it's former self. It's a bit on the noisy side when the compressor kicks in. Draining is laborous This product was advertised by Haier in a way that made us believe we wouldn't have to drain it. Resolving those two issues should stop the water leakage on the inside of the house. A drain hose should have been included with the unit, particularly when sold in Florida a very humid atmosphere. We raised the unit and put a shallow bowl under it to catch more water so we don't have to drain it as often. Hope this answers your question.
